Start Making Your Website

OK! I have understand the basic knowledge in Section 1, How to start making my website?

You need to make your first page (main page). We will tell you the different among index.htm, index.html,  index.shtml, default.htm, index.php, index.asp, index.jsp, index.cgi and index.pl.

After making my website, how can I upload to my web hosting account?

We will suggest you to download a FTP software and teach you how to upload your website files to web hosting account.

In FTP software, there is a function called "CHMOD" e.g. CHMOD 755, CHMOD 777, CHMOD 666 etc. We will tell you the different and how to use them.

What directories can I use in uploading to my web hosting account?

We will tell you the common directories e.g. "root directory", "images" and "cgi-bin" etc.

I have uploaded my web site files to my web hosting account, what is next step?

If you have successfully uploaded your files to your web hosting account, the next step is to increase your visitors to your website.

We will teach you how to submit to search engines. We will introduce more than 30 search engines to you (Chinese and English). These 30 search engines are enough for promoting your website to the internet.

When your visitors increase everyone. you may consider to make your earning (money) throught your website. The easy and hot "topic" is to host ADs to your website e.g. Google Adsense.

Google Adsense don't support some fonts in your website (e.g. Traditional Chinese), we will teach you how to display Google Adsense's Ads successfully in your website. This method is accepted by Google.

If you have applied for your .com in USA, it costs about US$29.5 a year, US$6 per month for web hosting (i.e. US$72) a year. Your total cost is US$101.5 a year. If you use Google Adsense service, not only these charge may be covered but your monthly internet fee could also be covered.
